What is Gatejumper all about?
Gatejumper is a community for people who build web-based businesses.
It's a place where you can ask and answer questions that will help you and the other community members build more successful online businesses.
Getting a web-based business up and running isn't always easy. It's even harder to make a business succeed online and to earn a living from it. The goal of Gatejumper is to build a community where people help each other with whatever it takes to make our online businesses successful.
Any questions about building an online business are welcome here. Some of the topics you'll find include:

Doesn't this sort of thing already exist?
If you've been working online for a while, you probably know that there are some other places where people "discuss" the ins-and-outs of building successful websites. You may have also noticed that those sites aren't always very helpful for a lot of reasons.
Many of them are full of philosophical or argumentative discussions, most require registration and are moderated by just one or two people. Those other sites are also usually focused on a very specific topic (like SEO) and are often at too high a level. Beginners can't easily participate and are sometimes even dismissed.
That's where Gatejumper is different. We are an open, positive, all-levels-welcome kind of community. No question is too "beginner" or too expert. Argumentative or dismissive discussions aren't welcome here (there are already places you can go for that).
We don't run Gatejumper, you do. This site is collaboratively built and maintained by your fellow web entrepreneurs. Once the system learns to trust you, you'll be able to edit anything, much like Wikipedia. With your help, we can build good answers to every question a traveler might have. No matter where you travel, what your budget is, or what you like to do, we can learn from each other.
Gatejumper is completely free. Answers are listed by how useful they are (the community votes on how good an answer is). No registration is required, and you can find what you're looking for by using our really fast search function, or by browsing by relevant tags. You can register if you want to collect karma and win valuable flair that will appear next to your name, but otherwise, it's just free. And fast.

What is a "gatejumper" anyways?
