A friend of mine recently mentioned that she was checking out software called Site Build It to help her design and build a user content driven website. I hadn't heard of it before. It looks like Site Build It also has a competitor called XSitePro. Both of them look a little questionable, like they're geared towards newbies who probably won't end up making any significant money online.

Does anyone have experience with either XSitePro or Site Build It? Are they worth using?

Hopefully this isn't a double post...had some confusion logging in.

At any rate, Site Build It is definitely legit. I use it.

What it's focused on is building content based websites, not a blog. You spend a significant amount of time focusing on and choosing a niche, which will be the main concept of your website (think deep niche here....like sword collecting, or 1940s toys...etc.).

Site Build It give you a DEEP understanding of how to build the website using SEO techniques. They ARE NOT about using shady, black hat tactics for generating content. Instead you'll learn a lot about what it takes to make a web page that will get you traffic. Also, a significant amount of time is spent on building links, which is a key component to getting free, targeted traffic to your website.

One of the hugest benefits is the forum. There is a HUGE user community that provide very, very, very good advice on how you can build a good website. Also, you'll get access to a large number of ebooks that give you good information on subjects such as content building, backlinks, how to write, etc.

One thing you should keep in mind is that they focus on a long term approach. Don't go into it thinking you'll set up a web page and be generating traffic and money within a month. It doesn't happen like that and I like that they give you the proper expectations. It takes work to build a quality website.

As a side note, I may have been overly ambitious with the main keyword I chose for my site. I'm not generating a lot of traffic right now and my site has been up since the end of July.

If you have any further questions, definitely let me know. I'm more than willing to help out!

They're legit. If you don't have experience putting together websites then this makes it simple. You're right that they're geared toward newbies.
